On June 21, 2022, a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) employee recklessly pulled out of a construction area in Gwinnett County and collided with Collins’ vehicle. As a result of the collusion, Collins suffered serious injuries.
Kanani Law Firm brought Neff Injury on board as co-counsel midway through the lawsuit to provide additional support and leverage their extensive experience in personal injury litigation. The lawsuit sought compensatory and punitive damages for Collins, alleging that GDOT’s negligence directly led to his physical and emotional suffering, as well as ongoing medical expenses.
According to the complaint, the GDOT employee was cited for an improper lane change, underscoring the alleged failure to maintain a safe lookout and operate the vehicle responsibly. The settlement compensates Collins for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and loss of enjoyment of life.
