What are brain injuries?

This blog has discussed traumatic brain injuries (or TBI, for Traumatic Brain Injury) a few times before. These injuries are generally caused by a head forcefully hitting an object, such as the dashboard of a car, by an object entering the skull, or by other injuries including shaking or twisting of the head causing blood vessels in the brain to tear or leak and cause damages.

Brain injuries can also occur from lack of oxygen, poisoning or infection. Unfortunately these injuries are not always apparent from any physical signs; they are sometimes seen after CAT scans or MRIs. However, frequently brain injuries are not proven until after neuropsychological testing.

If you believe that you or someone you love has suffered a brain injury because of someone else’s negligence, you may qualify to receive compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, or even punitive damages. We encourage you to call the Law Offices of Michael L. Neff right away.
